Fado Tour

min. 2 people 3 hours from 20€/person

This tour will be a journey through time

Have you ever heard of Fado? I’m sure that this typical Portuguese music is quite well-known worldwide. Indeed, it is not easy to define in detail what such music represents for the Portuguese people and, in particular, for the inhabitants of Lisbon (and for me!). Melancholy, the famous saudade, the Portuguese guitar: Fado encompasses the culture and stories born from the modern and contemporary history of Portugal. In this tour I will guide you through a different and unexpected journey: you’ll hear about the origins of Fado, and how it spread first on a national and then on an international scale, starting with the great Maria Severa and then with the beloved Amália Rodrigues. Strolling through the alleys in the most important Fado related places, we will conclude this unforgettable evening with Portuguese food and wine, delighted by the songs, the nostalgia, of the Fado singers of Lisboa. I’ll guide you through a world made of music and tradition, are you ready to travel with me?
